Spirit Guide Meditation

Meditation is one of the most common ways to contact and connect with your guides. Continually meditating will help reveal the name and identity of your guide. When meditating to contact your guide, try asking precise questions. If you do not receive answers immediately, keep trying. It can take several years to achieve this. Here is a suggested meditation that you can use to contact and communicate with your spirit guides. It can also be done before doing a psychic reading or healing work.

Find a comfortable and quiet place. It is usually good to designate a space in your home where you can always go to repeat the meditation.

Turn off all electronic devices — television, radio, telephone, or computer.

Become aware of your breathing. Use slow, deep breaths, inhaling through your nose, hold it for a few seconds, and release it through your mouth slowly.

Close your eyes and try to clear your mind of all chatter. Keep taking those deep breaths until you start to feel any tension leave your body.

You can visualize a beautiful quiet place outdoors, or a place where you feel safe and happy.

Because your guides communicate in subtle ways, this is the time in your meditation to ask if anyone from the spirit world is there to help you and guide you. You can start communicating either out loud or in your mind. You might feel foolish at first, but be patient and keep trying.

If you are in a deep relaxed state, you may start to get an image in your mind. Try to focus on it. The images can vary from angels, archangels or someone who has passed. Remember to keep breathing at a deliberate pace, taking deep breaths through your nose, holding it for a few seconds and then releasing it slowly through your mouth. Visualize bringing in positive energy and releasing negative energy.

Do the images resemble a male or female? The images may not be totally clear, so do not get frustrated. You might even feel a sensation of touch, warmth or burst of air, which may signal their presence. Always express your gratitude for any assistance you might receive from your guides.

If it is your first or second time performing this meditation, remember to keep trying. Don’t give up as it may take a long time to actually figure out who or what appears.

When you have a clear vision in your head, ask for a name or ask a question that you need guidance on. Again, this may take several times to get any answers. However, you might get a burst of knowledge or intuition that will reveal an answer.

You may not hear the guides verbally speak to you. The answers may come in the form of a vision, dream or in an indirect and subtle way. This could be either through a favorite song of yours, a significant combination of reoccurring numbers or the appearance of a lost object. If the answers that are revealed to you make sense in the context of your questions and make you feel comforted, most likely you are starting to connect with your guides. You may also receive messages from your guides that do not seem to make sense at the time; however, they eventually will become clear and serve a purpose down the road.

As you start getting a closer connection to your spirit guides, they may reveal why they have been chosen to watch over you and keep you on the path you need to follow. When you are not meditating, pay attention to coincidences — they are not always random, they are probably messages from your spirit guides who are trying to wake you up and give you some much needed knowledge and assistance.
